Shane Bird
Shane joined the Royal Air Force as a Physical Training Instructor in 1997. He is currently based at RAF College Cranwell, Lincs, as a Sergeant PTI, where he is responsible for the planning, supervision and delivery of Formal Physical Training to recruits undergoing Initial Officer Training.
Within the Military, Shane is also specialised as an Exercise and Rehabilitation Instructor and has spent 7 years working in various Rehabilitation Departments treating injured service men and women. Most notably he has worked at Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court where he was responsible for providing exercise based rehab to combat injured personnel, including amputees and those with traumatic brain injuries.
These experiences have given Shane a key understanding of how to coach and motivate different individuals undertaking programmes of exercise.
As a member of The Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 4, Shane has also gained the fitness industry’s highest standard and level of recognition.
